I attended a work meeting for dinner. This place is very nice! Staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome. Food is wonderful! Most of our table had different types of steak they really enjoyed. I had chicken that was very good-tender, well cooked and seasoned. We had tartare both beef and tuna that the others enjoyed- I don't eat. Also had Rock Shrimo that was fabulous- could have eaten as meal. Cocktails were wonderful- try the Midland Sunset if you like sweet drinks. Restaurant is just way too small! We went in a Tuesday night and had no where to sit to wait for our table. Bar area had only a few seats at bar, no standing room. Only 1 person restroom with location on way to kitchen so no good place to stand to be out of the way while waiting. Very pricey experience but was worth it for food/drinks.
I'll start this review by saying that I ate Cowboy Prime while visiting Midland from out of state. The service at Cowboy Prime is incredible, every server consistently ensures that your water is filled and checks in regularly. The servers were knowledgeable and were more than happy to ask others with more insight if they didn't have the answer. The food was good, but in my opinion was overpriced. For example, the steak and frites warranted more of a $25-30 price tag as opposed to the nearly $40 price tag (although the price of the service does make up for it a bit!) The atmosphere is definitely unique compared to other places in midland. The music is a little loud and makes conversation challenging, but the nice counter to that is you don't hear anyone else's convo either!
Excellent atmosphere, superb food, outstanding service. Ask for Thomas, you won't be disappointed. We had the peppercorn crusted filet, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Ended the meal with the Crème Brûlée. Highly recommend!
Great experience, love coming to Cowboy Prime. Love the ambiance & decor. Been here a few times and The food has not disappoint. The service has been consistant so far. Love coming here and feeling im not in midland.
The service was fantastic. Everyone was working great together. The food was top tier! Most fabulous dinner and just a luxurious area. Great for date night or small celebration.
The food was delicious! The service for us was extremely slow, and not great. Our waitress was good, but her help and fact that they had her serving tables on other side of restaurant made for worse service, not her fault. It took about 45 min to receive our appetizer of oysters. They were good but small, and after 45 min we wanted main dish. An hour and half in we received our entrees. The sushi was TOP NOTCH, super tasty. And the steak sandwich was also very good and I enjoyed it a lot!! The restaurant itself has a great, upscale atmosphere. All in all I loved this restaurant, but I definitely want to go back and see if the service was a glitch or if it was that slow all the time. If service improves, I'd change to 5 star experience.
Second visit and was as good as the first!! We started out with crab cakes. Hubby had lamb chops, I had the salmon! Great service, friendly, attentive without being intrusive.
Probably the best steak in Midland and Odessa. BTW, Awesome music list. This is a fun great ambiance steakhouse. The menu is off the charts. They also serve Sushi! Right? I was accompanied by a beautiful woman who ordered the Fillet and I had the Ribeye. Please have them read you the dessert menu you won't be disappointed! We actually ate here three straight days.
Wonderful service, excellent meal, nice wine list, and a full bar exactly what you want in an upscale steakhouse. The menu is a la carte, with sides served family style. Our group especially enjoyed the fresh creamed spinach and asparagus. The tuna appetizer was tasty but the experience is more spice than tuna. The shrimp cocktail is quite good though. For desert, the bombe Texas is the clear winner with full table side flambé. Though the Milton chocolate cake and crème brûlée were not disappointing. Consider at least one of their signature cocktails as well- they have excellent flavor layering. They managed our party of 3 as well as they did when I visited again with a party of 7.
